Working from his forge in Cambridgeshire, Richard Hillam produces a wide variety of hot forged ironwork, drawing much of his inspiration from the traditional techniques that have been used for hundreds of years. By using traditional hot forging techniques that have stood the test of time and with over 20 years of blacksmithing experience, Richard produces ironwork with exceptional quality that will last for generations to come.

Richard is a well known and recognised face in UK blacksmithing, winning awards and competitions throughout the country, representing the South of England.

As well as working in his forge on his own projects, Richard has undertaken many other projects with other renowned blacksmiths. One such being the very talented Bex Simon, who Richard worked with to create some very ornate interior art nouveau doors for a private bar room in a stately home.

Richard was also involved in The Ministry of Justice Westminster Magistrates Court public art project where 40 metres of sculptural metalwork was created. The artwork describes the history of the site that is Ministry of Justice Westminster Magistrates Court over a 400 year timeline.
